Course Outline

I. Understanding Communication

  • Types of Communication: Explore verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual communication.
  • Communication Styles: Analyze different communication preferences and how they impact interactions.
  • The Importance of Effective Communication: Understand how communication affects perceptions, relationships, and workplace dynamics.
  • Seven C’s of Communication: Learn how to apply clarity, conciseness, concreteness, correctness, coherence, completeness, and courtesy.

II. Developing Communication Skills

  • Active Listening: Practice techniques for attentive and empathetic listening.
  • Verbal Communication: Enhance clarity, tone, and persuasive language.
  • Non-Verbal Communication: Improve body language, eye contact, and other non-verbal cues.
  • Written Communication: Focus on business writing, email etiquette, and report writing.
  • Giving and Receiving Feedback: Learn to provide constructive criticism and respond effectively.
  • Public Speaking: Develop confidence and skills for presentations and meetings.
  • Conflict Resolution: Learn strategies for navigating disagreements constructively.
